Very kind and thoughtful owner, gave us a lot of wonderful recommendations for the area! The two cats were adorable and friendly. I would absolutely stay here again, there were also bikes available to rent and books to read! Room was wonderful and the futons were very comfortable

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is excellent and near many useful places. The room was very comfortable.

Aso Base Backpackers asub Asos, 33 km kaugusel Egao Kenko staadionist Kumamoto ja 42 km kaugusel Kumamoto lossist. Great location, very clean, helpful owners, cozy atmosphere. If you are a couple, book in advance or you will end up in dorm. :)

Situated in Kumamoto, 2.4 km from Suizenji Park, 旅の途中 On the trip features accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a shared lounge and a bar. This traditional Japanese-style house is full of character and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. While it’s not a fully private room, the sleeping area is well separated, offering a comfortable sense of privacy. Sounds do carry a bit, as it’s an old house, but the creativity in the space makes each stay feel fresh and inspiring. It’s conveniently located—about 10 minutes by bus to Shin-Suizenji Station and around 15 minutes to central Kumamoto. The nearby “Gootarian” space is also a nice addition. The area has historic spots like Kengun Shrine, perfect for a morning walk. With shops, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby, it’s easy to grab a bento or snacks and relax at the accommodation. It really feels like staying in a local home. Free parking is a big plus. I prefer not to drive at night, so being able to park and explore by bus has worked out perfectly.

Set in Kumamoto and with Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei reachable within 3.1 km, Hotel The Gate Kumamoto offers a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar. Excellent location next to the railway station, clean, inexpensive, staff can speak English.
