Altstadthotel Kasererbräu
Altstadthotel Kasererbräu
About this property
Dating back to 1342, the carefully renovated Altstadthotel Kasererbräu has been family-run for several generations and is located in the heart of Salzburg, directly in the city's historical pedestrian zone, at the foot of the Hohensalzburg Fortress. The rooms, some of which feature antique furniture, while others are newly renovated with a modern design, are individually furnished and offer guests the highest level of comfort possible. Some categories offer a free-standing bathtub. Every morning, Altstadthotel Kasererbräu provides guests with a buffet breakfast and an Italian restaurant is located in the same building. The hotel is only a few minutes walking distance from all famous historical sights in Salzburg, such as the Salzburger Dom cathedral, the Residence Square with its fountain, Mozart's birthplace or St. Peter's Monastery. A variety of traditional Austrian restaurants in the old town are as well located in the immediate surrounding. Garages and parking lots are available near the hotel. Busses number 3, 5, 6, 8 and 25 all stop only a short walk away from the hotel, conveniently transporting guests around Salzburg.
Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.6 for a two-person trip.

“Obviously, this hotel has a long history, with arguably the oldest cinema (which, unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to visit, as all the films they show are in German) built on Roman ruins. The hotel still retains the charm of a bygone era...” - Alan

“So central, and easy to get around Salzburg from here. Also being able to check out at midday, means you can make the most of your last day, and then the staff were happy for us to leave luggage in reception until we left the city.” - Preece

“It is a lovely suite but we asked for another bed to be made up and they didn't do it. We had to ask for extra towels as we were four and there were only two towels and we had to ask for coffee as again it was only for 2. With a little bit more...” - Richard
