Set on sixty-six acres in a hidden vale is a picture-perfect farm offering country-luxe accommodation for families, couples and groups of friends. In the centre of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, adjacent to the Bruce Highway and down the road from the Big Pineapple, Sixty6 Acres is somewhere you can rest, relax and recharge or dive into the best of the Coast’s attractions. Our new Farmhouse restaurant and bar is perfectly situated for morning coffee, meals and sundowners. Search for platypus in the creek, read a book on the deck or hand feed the resident miniature horses, cows, donkeys and sheep. * Enjoy country and rural views from full length verandahs or cosy up indoors in front of a wood burning feature fireplace. Watch the sun set with local gin and tonic sundowners at the outdoor fire pits. Soak in your freestanding bath or wander up to the stables to chill with our furry residents. Check out our website for more details of the farmstay and activities. Also available to book is a 3-bed Acreage cottage and 93 powered sites. * Each of the six Quarters has a unique interior curated by coveted stylist and interior designers, The Belle Bright Project. Internal features include a calming colour palette, sumptuous fabrics and original artworks. * Note there is a maximum 4 people per cabin (including infants). For larger families or groups, there is The Acreage, a stylishly cosy 3 bedroom cottage that sleeps 6 featuring 2 queen rooms and 1 twin as well as an outdoor bath house to soak under the stars. * The northern corner of our farm is adjacent to the Bruce Highway so there may be some traffic noise at times as well as other farming background sounds (occasional tractor, mower, water pumps etc). These are balanced by our resident kookaburra calls, wild ducks, sparrows, cockatoos and the cluck of our hens.
The Pitcher family have lived in Woombye for three generations and have strong connections to the local community. After purchasing this neglected former cane farm 13 years ago and returning its pristine pastures, Andrew and Jo were keen to offer a more relaxed, spacious alternative to beachfront holiday apartments where families are free to roam and explore. To date 50,000 native and fruit trees have been planted including a 15,000 crop of pineapples.
The township of Woombye was established in 1868 as a Cobb and Co staging depot halfway between Gympie and Brisbane. The local area has a proud farming pedigree and Woombye’s country high street is only a few minutes away offering a bakery, butcher, supermarket and plenty of gift, café and dining options.
