The "Retreat Lodge Schürmatt" is located on the elevated southern hillside of the Jura, 7 km north-east of Solothurn. The charming house with garden is ideal for families and groups looking for a quiet and inspiring environment, nature, sun and views of the Alps. From here you can hike or bike in the Jura, shop or dine in Switzerland's most beautiful baroque town, explore places of interest, climb in the Balmberg rope park or work in the home office, writing and making creative plans.
This reasonably priced, stylishly furnished 7-room house has 4 bedrooms and 2 living and dining rooms as well as a bathroom on the ground floor. A large attic room with sleeping possibility, the home office with WLAN, a piano, a fireplace, terraces and a spacious garden make the "Retreat Lodge Schürmatt" particularly attractive. The detached house is situated in an elevated, exclusive location on the "Günsberg sun terrace" with a fantastic view of the Swiss Alps, within walking distance of the village centre with shopping facilities and in the immediate vicinity of nature trails with a wide view of the Swiss midlands.

The host is in love with his childhood home and enjoys it when his guests - especially families or small groups - feel comfortable in it. Whether it is to relax there, to get new ideas from the fabulous view, to explore the attractive rural surroundings in the Jura heights, to pay a visit to the most beautiful baroque town, to work creatively or to go inspired workshopping. The host is always available for you and will be happy to provide you with tips on how to make your stay in the mountain village of Günsberg attractive.
The host Vinzenz Wyss is a professor of journalism at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. He lives in the Zurich area with his family.
The spacious house with large grounds invites you to retreat, to work creatively, to inspired workshopping, or simply to special living. It is very suitable for families or groups who not only want to live like Swiss people in the countryside for several days, a week or even longer, but also - on the tracks of the dinosaurs - want to hike through the heights of the Jura, smell the rural character, experience the charm of the former French ambassadorial city of Solothurn, visit the nearby capital Bern or French-speaking cities such as Biel or Delémont.
But also welcome are people who work in the Solothurn area for a few days or weeks and value stylish living, like to receive visitors from time to time or appreciate spending their free time in an attractive, rural setting.
