A 15-minute drive from the centre of Basel, Hotel Gasthof zum Ochsen enjoys a quiet location in the heart of Arlesheim, 8 km from Basel and 1,200 metres from the Goetheanum Centre in Dornach. The property offers free WiFi and free internet corner in the lobby. The property features chargeable private parking spaces in the underground car park and charging stations for electric cars. The breakfast buffet is served from 06:30 and comprises a variety of mueslis, bread, rolls and homemade jams. The restaurant specialises in meats from the in-house butcher shop such as steak tartare, oxtail soup, cordon bleu or a butcher's cut. Dishes can be accompanied by a wide variety of fine international wines. All of the non-smoking rooms have been completely renovated in 2016 and 2017 and provide modern box-spring beds, floor-level showers and free toiletries. Guests can help themselves to complimentary beer, a mineral water, coffee, tea and fruits at the free bar on every floor. A gift from the property butchers shop will be placed in every room. The hotel rents out mountain bikes in various sizes for CHF 30 per day. There are many tips on cycling tours and trails. . The Ermitage is also around the corner and this is an English landscaped park where guests can relax. A tram station is only 5 walking minutes from the Hotel Gasthof zum Ochsen.
