Magdaléna's family has lived in Bítov for decades. After studying in Brno and travelling & working through Ireland and Greece, Magdaléna decided to return to Bítov. She's an avid coffee enthusiast and as such she decided to rebuild her family house into a bed & breakfast with a stylish small café called Kafe v obýváku (Coffee in the living room). She's also a trying artist and you can see some of her work in the coffee shop and also buy some homemade cosmetics she's making with her partner.
Our small village Bítov has been re-built between 1932 and 1933. The original village located in the valley under the Bítov Castle about 1 km away had to be flooded. Czechslovakian government decided to build a dam down under. The village of Bítov thus became the first newly built village in Czechoslovakia built from the ground up on the basis of a comprehensive architectural plan. The Prague architect Josef Karel Říha took care of the design.
