The apartment is decorated with a collection of original Estonian, Russian, French and Irish paintings. It offers fast Wi-Fi. There is a large, open-plan living room combined with a fully equipped kitchenette. The apartment is located 4 km from Tallinn Airport. WHAT IF OSCAR WILDE MET WITH EDUARD VILDE? Wilde Guest Apartments is named after a Cultural Endeavour conceived by the owner Liam Allen to honour the Irish writer Oscar Wilde (1854–1900) and the Estonian writer Eduard Vilde (1856–1933). The bronze work by Tiiu Kirsipuu which depicts Oscar Wilde & Eduard Vilde sitting on a park bench having an imagined conversation is located in the centre of Tartu, the second city of Estonia, coincidentally outside former printing house established by a third namesake, Peter Ernest Vilde in 1648. The building in Tartu now houses an art wine bar Vilde & Vine. In 2004 the government of Estonia on the occasion of joining the European Union gifted a copy of the sculpture to the city of Galway in Ireland. Today the sculptures are amongst the most photographed sites in both cities. Wilde Guest Apartments are also in Tartu, but not yet in Galway. There is a large monument to Eduard Vilde in front Wilde Guest Apartments Tallinn Old Town.
Where you will be staying, right in the middle of the UNESCO Heritage listed Tallinn Old Town, the easiest and most convenient is to walk around. Every corner of this unique open-air sight in its entirety is reachable in 10-15 minutes of walk, 30 minutes if leisurely. Take a walk also beyond the Old Town because there are the other significant areas of the city - famous milieu-valued Kalamaja area and Telliskivi Creative Area within that, architecturally stunning Rotermann Quarters, also Tallinn City with our few skyscrapers, Viru Shopping Mall, Stockmann and Kaubamaja department stores.
