We purchased this property to use as our home summer place to escape the winter weather in Ireland. Now it is used by relatives and friends and rentals. It is a small complex of about 60 houses around the pool. The house is comfortable with all amenities. It is 3 stories with 2 bedrooms on the first floor and a further one in the basement. We are not allowed rent out the bedroom in the basement so that is now kept locked up.
It is located in probably one of the best areas in Caleta de Fuste. On the ground floor is a very good sized lounge with 2 double sofas and a sofa bed. There is a large flat screen television with satellite channels including BBC and ITV as well as DVD and CD player. Next to the living room is a well fitted kitchen with a table and 4 chairs. This in turn leads to the private patio area where there is another table and 4 chairs; this leads on to the pool area which is in a nicely landscaped garden. There is also a cloakroom on this floor.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with 2 single: both have built in wardrobes and small balconies. The bathroom with bath, shower, loo and bidet is on this floor.
We love the climate in Fuerteventura. It is superb, rarely too warm and tempered with light breezes and average all year round temperatures of 21 degree . We enjoy eating and drinking out in the locality.
We chose our house as it is close proximity to everything so if we want a few weeks away from driving there is no need for a car. If we want to go further afield we use the bus service which is very comfortable and good.
We also like that there is no high story developments. The island is not much smaller than Teneriffe but not at all as developed.
Our house is in walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants. The cafes and restaurants cover all types from Italian, Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish as well as basic style (sausages, eggs, beans and chips and the rest!)
There are several mini markets including a British store in easy walking distance from the house. There is a very nice shopping center about 25 minutes lovely walk down by the sea. This is called Atlantico and has a large supermarket along with clothes, shoe shops and others. Taxis can be be got down in the town center about 15 minutes a way or phone for one to meet you outside our complex. It will only cost a few Euro to go to Atlantico. There are 2 pubs just outside our complex; The Dog and Duck which is English style and very popular with no televisions or loud music and it has a large seating area outside and a Spanish one which is smaller and very new. There are many more on the way and in the town. The Rotundas Shopping Center in Puerto Del Rosario is the biggest center in the Canary Islands and offers all the main brands at excellent value.
There are countless excursions and activities available including lots of water sports.
