Truly beautiful location, and a well equipped property. In particular, a very well equipped kitchen which supported cooking 2 large meals a day - good quality kitchenware, good appliances, etc.

The house is within the mediaeval bastide of Puycelsi. The well-furnished renovated cottage has an open kitchen-dining-living space that offers a modern contemporary kitchen with an extendable dining table with a baby booster chair, and a living area with a sofa and a smart connected TV with a DVD player and Netflix, Disney, Prime and Apple TV all installed for your entertainment. The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, an integrated oven and microwave oven and a large dishwasher. For the coffee lovers there’s a filter coffee maker and a Nespresso capsule espresso coffee maker. It also comes with a washing machine and a dryer. Wifi is free and is available throughout the house. The first-floor has two bedrooms separated by a luxuriously spacious tiled bathroom. The first bedroom has two single beds. The second, a twin bed with traditional French Louis style furnishing. Each bedroom has bedside tables and a chest of drawers and also come with a misting fan. The charming converted attic has a double bed under a skylight and an en-suite bathroom. The wooden beams are quite low in places so watch your head! It’s the perfect home for a weekend getaway, a family get together, or a long retreat to unwind and relax. There is also a folding cot in the attic for babies and toddlers - please see the photos. Please note - No Smoking & No Cats. Dogs are welcome!
Yorkshire born, based in the Netherlands, Francophile and dog owner. I work in the Netherlands at the University of Delft, and I have lived and worked in Pakistan, Mexico, Germany and, of course, the UK. As a plant biologist, I have the opportunity to explore and appreciate flora of varied habitats. A keen gardener and a multiple Chelsea Flower show winner. A polyglot, I speak Spanish and German, and some Dutch, but my French is still a work in progress. Tarn is a plant lovers paradise with wildflowers and orchids as well as extensive oak woodlands. The house is also ideal for hikers as the wooded hillsides and forests are laced with hiking routes with Puycelsi at the centre. Puycelsi is a dream village with beautiful views, sunshine, and wine! If you haven’t already seen the BBC documentary ‘Wild Tales from the Village’, you should! Our house was a project of a lifetime, we’ve nurtured it from near ruins to a restored home where we hope to retire.
Toulouse Blagnac is the nearest major, international airport with direct direct flights from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead, Madrid, Brussels, Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Edinburgh, Manchester, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Dublin, and many more, with 1 connecting flight from all US major Cities. The tourist information centre is at the foot of the village. The village has a very well supplied grocery shop with it's own bakery (which sells sandwiches and pizzas in the summer) post office, book shop, bistro and 2 restaurants. The village square has picnic benches with a stunning view of the local forest-clad hills and the distant Pyrenees mountains. By the mediaeval walls, you'll also find shaded meadows with more picnic tables if you wish to enjoy a glass of wine in the shade. Puycelsi is one of the "most beautiful villages in France". For more information, google "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" Besides the vineyards of wine-capital Gaillac, there are several hiking trails (Le Circuit des Bastides), biking routes (Tarn tourism) and scenic villages for you to explore. The annual Festival de Puycelsi features local musicians and artists for a season of musical performance
