Originally from NZ, I lived in the UK for 18 years and now am loving life in the south of France with my husband. We run outdoor activity holidays in the Languedoc - cycling, walking and, in winter, snowshoeing in the wonderful Pyrenees. We've renovated our house, with respect for its history but with modern amenities, as well as creating a beautiful garden for our guests to relax in and enjoy too.

Property information

Set in a typical southern-France village with stone houses, terracotta roofs and surrounded by vineyards, Clos du Magnolia is a perfect place from which to visit the many wonderful places in Herault. It is a beautiful old vignerons house, sensitively renovated to keep the existing character and features while also providing modern facilities. There's a pool and a lovely garden in which to relax. The chambre d'hote rooms also have a shared dining/lounge area with some kitchen facilities for making tea/coffee and a fridge for cold drinks. Evening meals can be provided by arrangement. Close by there are mountains, the Mediterranean coast with miles of lovely beaches, rivers for kayaking, golf courses etc for those looking for an activity break. It is an excellent area for hiking or cycling, both on and off-road. We're also in the middle of the largest wine-growing area in France, so there are plenty of opportunities to discover Languedoc-Roussillon wines. The area is steeped in history and has many great cities close by (Beziers, Narbonne, Montpellier, Carcassonne and Perpignan) plus we're just over an hour from the Spanish border. There is much to discover here.

Neighbourhood information

We're surrounded by vineyards, close to the River Orb, mountains at the back for some terrific walking and cycling and 30 minutes drive to great Mediterranean beaches. Only 20 minutes to Beziers and an hours drive to the wonderful cities of Montpellier and Perpignan and just a bit further to Spain. Spoilt for choice for activities and things to do; hiking, cycling, kayaking, golf, horse-riding - or just relax by the pool, river or beach. We're in a typical small village of southern France, dominated by wine-growing. There is a bar/restaurant and a Depot du Pain for the daily baguette in the village. Evening meals can be provided with 24 hours notice. We have a good year-round climate, with distinctive seasons making it a great place to visit at any time of the year.
