This place is in fact unique. Commonly called the "Château" build and used by the catholic clergy in a hostile environment that means a catholic island in a sea of protestants. During the religious wars the building was fortified and was able to defend itself thru so-called "meurtrières".
As an ex banker and broker JM traveled the seven seas and more often stayed at guest houses than in ordinary hotels. Hence he gathered a lot of different experiences and knows exactly the needs and desires of the travel community.
The neighborhood is gorgeous. Few miles away the river Ardèche, where you can rend a kayak and descend the river for many miles and discover breathtaking scenery or visit the most beautiful villages of France all around and get a chuck full of culture by visiting the cave Chauvet which in fact is the first art gallery of humanity according to the UNESCO
