The loft is set on the second floor of Le Manoir des Doyens, and can host up to eight people. Perfect for those travelling in a group as it is not often you will find a chambre d'hote offering such a large space for groups that wish to stay together. The layout consists of two large rooms dormitory style with one double bed and two single beds in each room, with a kitchenette attached. There are two bathrooms, with a shower, sink and toilet in each. Guests of the loft apartment benefit from free WIFI, parking, and use of the manoir grounds, chapel and D-Day map room which is situated in the barn. The loft is excellent value for money in this sought after area, and despite its rural feel, is just a fifteen minute walk into the centre of town.
Despite the rural feel, the centre of Bayeux is only a fifteen minute walk from the property. The British cemetery is just a ten minute walk, and sites such as Omaha Beach are just a twenty minute drive from here, so we're pretty central to everything. There is a very big supermarket near the cemetery (five minutes in the car) plus numerous boutiques, restaurants and museums in the centre of town. The museums (including the Bayeux Tapestry) are open seven days a week, and a combined ticket is available for the Tapestry, Baron Gerard Museum, and Museum for the Battle of Normandy. Tours of the D-Day beaches can be booked in town.
