About this property
Originally a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, this 4-star hotel is set in 500 acres of picturesque grounds. A 15-minute drive from Coventry, it offers elegant rooms decorated with historical artifacts. Coombe Abbey has been restored to its former glory, and combines traditional old features with modern amenities. Wi-Fi is free throughout, and parking is possible on site, at an extra fee. All rooms have scenic views over the courtyard, lawns or beautiful tree-lined drive. Each also has satellite TV and facilities for making tea and coffee. Guests can dine in the hotel’s finely furnished à la carte restaurant. There is a changing Sunday lunch menu, and the Garden Bar serves afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and clotted cream. A magnificent medieval banquet is held at Coombe Abbey every weekend. The hotel specialises in themed events, from murder mysteries to ghost tours.
Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.3 for a two-person trip.
