Company information

I love to meet guests and enjoy having a chit chat with them . I serve a continental breakfast it’s a Buffett style breakfast. Nothing is to much trouble for myself or my team we are here to make your stay as relaxed and as pleasant as possible. There are so many thing to see around about Connel and Oban with daily boat trips from Oban across to Mull, Staffa and Iona. There are also lovely gardens further outside Oban which are in full bloom at the moment and some lovely scenic walks so you all will find something that you enjoy doing. We accept your four legged friends as well and want them to enjoy their holiday also. We even leave them a treat in the room as well so they don’t feel left out. I also offer a laundry service to all our guests and especially those guests who are here for a few nights or more , it’s good for them to know. We have our own Dog poo bin outside so the owners have somewhere to put the waste. So to all the guests out there come to Greenacre and relax and enjoy your well earned break and don’t forget the pooch !!! Xx. I would like to add the payment fee for guests with dogs. Our prices have gone up up due to guests leaving without paying for dogs.

Property information

We are just home from home and want all our guests to feel very welcome. We have a spectacular views from our two family rooms with some of the most beautiful sunsets. We also have our outdoor decking area with tables and chairs where guests can sit out on the summer evenings enjoying views over Loch Etive with a bottle of wine and a good book. There are lovely local walks for guests and especially for all the doggies. We like to give all our guests a personal laundry service which I do myself for them for a small fee. Some guests are well travelled and are looking for this kind of service so don't be afraid to ask me when you arrive its no trouble at all. So to all guests I hope this makes you feel very welcome and hope you enjoy your stay at Greenacre.

Neighbourhood information

Greenacre Guest House overlooks the Firth of Lorn offering views of Lismore, Morvern nad Mull. The sunsets are magnificent. The immediate sea is at the mouth of Loch Etive, this loch stretches 17 miles to Glen Etive which is part of the Glen Coe mountain system, there is no road round the loch but some fine walking is available. Looking North West one can see Ben Lora at only 1000 ft it offers magnificent views across the highlands. Turn right from Greenacre and some three hundred metres is a car park at the lochside. At low tide one sees the Falls of Lora, a waterfall in the sea !! So afr as we know there is nothing like it anywhere else in the world. Above the Falls is a bridge. Connel Bridge was completed in 1903 to take a railway to Ballachulish. It had the widest span of any cast iron bridge in the U.K., apart from the Forth Railway bridge. The railway closed in 1966 but the bridge is a vital road link. The town of Oban is five miles away. A well known landmark is McCaigs tower. It resembles the colosseum of Rome, it was built in the late 19th century at the instigation of Mr McCaig a local businessman .
