Company information

I was brought up on a farm in Shropshire, I enjoyed working on the farm, owned my own horses and loved riding. After studying for 2 years at Catering College, I spent my first year working in Switzerland in a large hotel in Berne gaining valuable experience. Back in the UK I headed for The Lake District, which I called my mini Switzerland! Here I worked alongside a very good chef/proprietor of a country house hotel, being left to run the kitchen a few months later with a colleague. I started a family in 1984, and in 1986 we bought Hill Crest, we extended to enable me to set up my own business and in 1993 Hill crest opened its doors as a luxury Bed and Breakfast. I still run Hill Crest with as much passion and commitment as the day I started! I really enjoy meeting people and making sure their stay is perfect in every way. The feedback I receive makes me confident I do. Hill Crest is an interesting house, often called a 'Tardis' as it looks small from the outside and is big within. The cosy guests lounge and conservatory are prefect recreational areas for you to enjoy.
