We are a very small family run business, at present offering four en-suite bedrooms in the main house and additional accommodation in the converted "Gig House". This comprises of two double or twin rooms upstairs, a sitting room down stairs which has a wall-mounted fold-away double bed, providing ideal accommodation for a wheel chair user or anyone preferring ground-floor accommodation. Also on the ground floor is a wheel-chair accessible wet room (Toilet, wash-hand basin and walk-in shower) and a small but well equipped kitchen. The Wet-room is shared by all three bedrooms, and the Gig House is always let as a complete unit, ideal for family accommodation, with a minimum 3 night stay.

Throughout 2018-19 the property underwent a significant restoration resulting in the very comfortable and high standard of accommodation we offer today. Located in a conservation in the very quiet, Institution Road, close to the town centre. Kilmorie House is within easy walking distance of Elgin Cathedral, Cooper Park and the restaurants and bars. Kilmorie House is an ideal location to begin your journey through historic Morayshire and we look forward to welcoming you. Off-street parking always available. Secure garaging available on request. All rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee making facilities.

Neighbourhood information

Located in an attractive conservation area at the East End of Elgin we are only a five minute walk from the centre of Elgin with a great choice of shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment. For those interested in history there is our local museum, the ruins of Elgin Cathedral, and at nearby Burghead you'll find the remains of a pictish fort and Sueno's stone at Forres, standing at over seven metres tall. At the heart of Scotland's distilling industry Elgin is the best place to explore the Malt Whisky Trail and the Spey Valley distilleries, home to over half of all Scotland's distilleries (the river Spey is also considered to be the best salmon fishing river in the world). Whatever your reason to visit Morayshire you'll find a warm and friendly welcome here at Kilmorie House.
