Large open plan space, comfortable beds, shower was great. Location was secluded and off the beaten track. Easy to find from the main road though. Very close to MTB trail centre at Forest of Dean, which was perfect for us.

This Modern Bungalow is set in the heart of the Forest of Dean, near the Wye valley AONB, light and very spacious with all the comforts of a home from home, including unlimited free Wi-Fi, Smart tv with Netflix and lots of board games, books and magazines for those rainy days. Open plan throughout with an extremely large kitchen/diner, 2 good-sized bedrooms, a gorgeous bathroom/shower and lovely views from the many windows. Located in a tiny hamlet, in a no through lane with hardly any traffic you can enjoy the peace and serenity of this natural enviroment yet still be within easy reach of the many attractions in the area, the newly created Beaver enclosure is just a 20 minute stroll through the Forest or 2 minute drive, puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, Cannop Ponds and cycle centre, Beechenhurst and Goodrich Castle to mention a few all only a short drive away. The Bungalow itself has a large, fully enclosed, wrap around garden with 2 outdoor seating areas and a gated gravel drive with parking for 3 cars (maximum) on the drive, additional parking for larger vehicles to the side gate, enjoy alfresco dining or an evening drink listening to the multitude of birds or watch the local sheep wander up and down the lane or a casual stroll through the Forest, maybe spot a deer or 2, or the wild boar the Forest is famous for. Ps, keep an eye open for the deer that regularly frequent the garden around midnight. - Pets are not allowed. - Please be aware the property does not have a dishwasher or washing machine. - For a good mobile signal turn on wifi calling on your phone. - 5 guests (maximum). - Please keep gate's shut at all times, to prevent sheep and wild boar entering. - Not suitable for guests with mobility issues. - Access to the property via Royal Oak Rd, not forest track as on google maps.
Welcome to the Forest of Dean, we have been lucky enough to have lived here for the past 10 years, there is nothing more satisfying than when our guests tell us they have enjoyed their stay with us, Myself and family love going for long walks in the forest with our 2 dogs, never the same route, or getting on our bikes and exploring the many trails and paths right on our doorstep, occasionally getting out canoes on the river wye usually ending the journey at the amazing Symonds Yat for a spot of lunch or a fantastic local ale by the log fire, there's so much to do and see or just relax and enjoy nature at its best.
The Pludds, meaning puddle or pond in Olde English. 208m above sea level and a former mining area in the heart of the magnificent Forest of Dean, which in medieval times was a royal hunting forest. A short stroll up the lane will take you to a stunning viewpoint where the Brecon Beacons and welsh mountains can be seen. The Bungalow has direct access from the garden gate into the Forest, where you can walk or cycle for miles without encountering a road, along countless paths and bike tracks, and has an abundace of wildlife, deer, sheep, and wild boar roaming freely in this natural environment, yet within easy reach of all the attractions the area has to offer, Canoe and Bike hire available locally. The nearest pub is called the Royal Spring Inn, approx 1.5 miles or a 5 minute drive, as the name suggests it located beside a spring with a lovely garden to sit end enjoy a glass of something or a bite to eat. The Bungalow is set in an extremely peaceful and quiet area in one of the last unspoiled areas of England, enjoy.
