This is THE perfect, romantic 'get away from it all' retreat. The Slad Valley (Laurie Lee country) is your own in this secluded, charming hideaway for a couple.
Small, but perfectly formed, the accommodation contains a standard size double bed with an extremely comfortable mattress and a hot power shower in a charming en-suite with mains water pressure. There is a log burner for warming moments with wood provided. The small kitchen boasts your essential amenities and the fold away table allows you the chance to make the most of the amazing views.
There is an outside table, chairs and gas bbq.
Every effort has been made to combine creature comforts with this idyllic, rural setting. Arrive by car to free parking from where the path to the hut is lit by sensors for your return walk from dinner & drinks 400 metres away, when you book into the famous Woolpack Inn.
Sophie George the owner is always available on her mobile if the guests have a problem or question about activities. Sophie knows the area well and recommends walking the Laurie Lee Wildlife way a map is in your property. She also recommends walking in dog friendly Westonbirt Arboretum and followed by a pub lunch in Tetbury.
Slad is 2 miles from Stroud where there is a main line train station from London and Birmingham.
The Shepherd Hut is on the Laurie Lee walking trail, maps provided in the hut, follow the wooden poetry posts around the Valley where Cider With Rosie was written, finish in the famous Woolpack after your walk.
Further afield you have the quintessential Cotswold towns of Painswick, Tetbury, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water.
The Regency town of Cheltenham is under 10 miles away as is the Cathedral City of Gloucester.
