With wonderful guest bedroom views across open farmland out to sea, Southdown B&B is set on the North Devon Hartland Heritage Coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), surrounded by farmland and in an ideal location for those looking to stay in a very rural location. The remote section of the Coast Path between Clovelly and Hartland Quay is nearby, and you can visit the many other wonderful attractions of the area including the unique fishing village of Clovelly, Clovelly Court Gardens, Hartland Quay, Hartland Abbey, Docton Mill Gardens and Tea Rooms, and the North Devon Wake Park which are a short drive away. Also within easy reach are the RHS Rosemoor Gardens and Dartington Crystal at Torrington, Tapeley Park, Appledore and Westward Ho! Day trips to the Island of Lundy from Bideford are also possible if booked well in advance. Sea fishing is available from Clovelly harbour. We have maps, guides to help you plan your stay if needed. Our comfortable guest bedrooms are ensuite, and all feature stunning sea and countryside views. Southdown is set in a very rural farming area of Higher Clovelly in North Devon, 1.5 miles from the unique car-free fishing village of Clovelly (sledges and donkeys only!) - often described as England's prettiest village. Guests love the relaxed atmosphere of the local villages, the very friendly local people, and the wonderful Devon Cream Teas! It is a great walking area and there are many stunning walks within a few miles of us, including the Tarka Trail (great for cycling!) and some of the most rural parts of the South West Coast Path - and we're in a great location for exploring the beautiful North Devon and North Cornwall areas by car. There are many local gardens to visit, including the Royal Horticultural Society Garden Rosemoor at Torrington. Other local attractions that can be visited are Lundy Island, Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum, Hartland Abbey, Tapeley Park and Gardens, the Tarka Trail, Appledore, Dartington Crystal, Hartland Quay and the Shipwreck & Smuggling Museum, Quince Honey Farm, Milky Way Adventure and Wake Parks, the North Devon Maritime Museum - and many many more.
