The Old Stables is a beautifully converted single storey 18th century barn. All rooms are very spacious and light. Cary Fitzpaine is a small hamlet comprising of twelve houses. There is a lovely large kitchen - farmhouse style with big dining table in the middle, with two sets of double glass doors opening onto private garden. There is also underfloor heating and a utility room with sink, washing machine and dryer. The roomy lounge also opens onto the garden, it is light, but also cosy in the winter. The three bedrooms all have en suite facilities. There is also a separate cloakroom. We have plenty of private parking space. Also the farm is great to walk around, with lots of wildlife and birds to spot. Well behaved Dogs are welcome. The Old Stables is a great venue for friends and families to meet up and spend time together, but also have plenty of space as well.
Andrew and Susie have lived and farmed at Cary Fitzpaine for many years. Andrew was born here. We also have bed and breakfast guests. We are always pleased to welcome our guests, and to see them enjoying our surroundings. We live very close and are available to assist if needed.
Cary Fitzpaine is a peaceful little haven. It is fortunate however to be only one mile from the A303 and .5 mile from A37 which makes access easy. Somerton, Bruton, Castle Cary, Yeovil, Shepton Mallet, Glastonbury, Wells and Sherborne are all within 30 minutes drive. Yeovilton RNAS museum and Haynes Car Museum are within 15 minutes drive. There are also plenty of National Trust/historical sites nearby ie Montacute, Stourhead, Lytes Cary, Barrington Court and Forde Abbey. We have lots of coastline to visit within an hour. Bristol, Bath, Exeter and Salisbury are also within an hours drive.
