Comfortable cottage in a quiet but convenient location which is close to bus stops and the local shop. We appreciated that on our arrival the fridge was stocked with milk and eggs and the cupboard with tea and coffee.

A self-catering cottage ideal for two people in a rural location. Attached to the farmhouse with its own private entrance and courtyard patio area, including seating, outside fire pit, wood fired pizza oven and BBQ. Inside the cottage there is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave/grill, hob and cooking equipment, wood burner and two seater sofa. The bedroom has a double bed with a feather duvet (if allergic please message and we can supply an alternative), dressing table and wardrobe, a separate shower room and a small lobby area at the front door to store your coats and shoes. The cottage does not have any central heating, we do supply two electric heaters and everything needed to light the fire. As this is an old building there are low beams and doorways so you may need to mind your head if tall. Set in countryside surroundings, ideal for walking and cycling, close to Newtown Nature Reserve, within walking distance of two local pubs and our village shop. A short drive to chessell pottery, tapnell farm park with the cow co resturant and just up the road in Wellow is west wight alpacas.
We are family oriented and live in the main farm house with two small children both aged 5 and two dogs an eight year old staffie Cross and a 3 year old small Spanish crossbreed this means it can be a little noisey at times but we do try and keep it down. There are usually some free range chickens roaming around too, they like to come and say hello and see if you have any food for them but they are friendly. We do try and meet our guests on arrival if we are able to, but if this is not possible the door key will be in a key safe to the left of your front door. If you need anything during your stay, don't hesitate to give me a text or even knock on the front door, we are usually around but will let you get on and enjoy your holiday.
We are situated down a quiet country lane with no pavements or street lights. There is parking on the driveway, with cctv coverage. There is a bus stop within 5 minutes walk on Wellow road taking you to Newport or Yarmouth, Freshwater and to alum Bay. If you are coming on holiday with no car and take the bus either from Yarmouth or Newport you will need to catch the number 7 bus that stops in wellow and not the one that goes through shalfleet (they are both the number 7). We are located near the round the island cycle route and have some fantastic walks near by. Yarmouth, Freshwater, Newport and Cowes are only a short drive away. Cycle and paddleboard hire is available in Yarmouth.
