The house was restored in 2021 and it is the first time it is available for rent. It is ideal for honeymoon vacations. Nevertheless it can accomodate one family, two families, or in total 8 people. It consists of a living room, kitchen and bathroom (double sink and very comfortable shower 1,60X1,60). The upper floor consists of two luxurius suites with double beds (the bed of the second suite can be seperated in two single beds) and a wc. Both suites contain a couch that converts into a double bed with comfortable matress. The house has newly installed thermal insulation frames with screens and shutters and/or security railings and a security front door. The kitchen is fully equipped with a modern built-in oven, large refrigerator, a table that can serve up to 8 people and espresso coffee machine. There are flat screen tvs in both floors. The house has a yard of 40 sq.m. with built-in stone sofa and garden dining area.
The mansion was built in 1880 by the Papalexiou family, the family of a local fisherman. It is a typical beautiful traditional stone and timber two storey house. After four generations, the great grand son of the owner, Simon Papalexiou decided to restore the house, preserving its unique architectural elements and adding modern amenities and a sense of luxurius living. Simon and his wife, Katerina Ritzouli, architect and restorator undertook the restoration of the house and will be glad to share with you the builiding's history.
The village of Aghios Nikolaos is a traditional village with a very vivid life both during winter and summer. The natural and architectural environment with the stone houses and the paved streets place the village in the position of one of the most beautiful residential complexes of the aera. In a range of less than 5 km there are the most beautiful beaches such as Karidi, Livrochio, Ormos, Pyrgadikia, Vourvourou. The house is in the center of the village, just 200 m. off the beautiful central square, in which one can find restaurants, cafes, and the local market. Every Thursday from 8-12, a small flee market is installed just 50 m. off the house. Live like a local!
