The buildings were built in 1912 and are located in Elounda, a worldwide summer destination with huge meaning in Greece’s history.
Back in 1912, the buildings accommodated local markets, such as fishmongers, bakeries, and grocers. As soon as the leprosy cases increased, the shops supplied food to the exiles in Spinalonga – the island located directly across from our suites.
When the cure of the for leprosy was discovered, the residents of Spinalonga island where relocated.
In 2022, the more than 70 years abandoned buildings were fully restored turning into the modern Petra Elounda Suites we present to you. The old stone construction has been enhanced with the addition of luxurious amenities, offering an accommodation that marries tradition with modernism.
Whether you’re looking for a family vacation or a retreat with friends, Petra Elounda Suites will host the vacation you’ll be talking about for years. A Mediterranean dream, flanked by the view of the sea spreading generously in front of you.

The suites are located at a focal point for Crete, with picturesque beaches, breezy sandy beaches, crystal clear sea and the ability of various activities.
Elounda is a place that can offer multiple experiences: from hiking or biking to a seafront cocktail or food with local delicacies. With marvelous beach and active nightlife, you can enjoy this place all day.
For those who prefer an even more urban life even on holiday, the town of Agios Nikolaos is only 25 minutes away (15km), while the town of Heraklion is just one hour away (65km), offering plenty of choices about city strolling, eating or drinking.
On the other hand, for the adventure seekers, the hinterland of Agios Nikolaos includes more than 70 villages and settlements with a strong traditional element while daily tours such as a visit in Samaria Gorge or the island of Spinalonga are a great choice to invest their time.
