Olive Cottage is a traditional 100 years old stone built farmhouse, located on the East side of the Korfos hill, overlooking the valley and the village of Zefiria, the old capital of the island. The house is 70 square meters and located in the middle of a 2000 square meters property, surrounded by fields and olive groves. The property includes also a traditional Cycladic style pigeon tower that currently hosts 25 wild pigeons.
The house is completely restored (restoration started in 2016) and it has been renovated in a way that respects and underlines the traditional character, combining it at the same time with all the comforts of a modern household. Some of the prominent traditional elements that give special character to the building are the old style metal beds & furniture partly made out of stranded wood, the traditional doors, the stove used for baking bread, and the vessel for the collection of wine.
The main part of the house consists of two rooms- one spacious bedroom with double bed and one living room with a bathroom (shower). A third room, a fully equipped kitchen, is part of the building, but separated from the two main rooms. The house has a very spacious terrace, 100m², built in different levels, equipped with terrace furniture and outdoor shower and it offers great view of the sunrise behind the volcano mountain, the serene valley and the picturesque village.
The house is designed for up to 4 people in the main building but it can, under conditions and in agreement with the owners, accommodate 1 to 2 extra persons in the kitchen room that has a built-in double bed.
The property can be reached by private road and it offers private spacious parking. From Olive cottage the airport, the port, the main villages and beaches of the island are only within few (5- 15) minutes’ drive accessible.
