Property information Built in 1929, literally into the volcanic rock, Villa Orpheus is a Cycladic-style villa located near the heart of the ancient village of Megalochori in south-western Santorini. Close the Caldera View the This fully-renovated traditional cave house sets the scene for indulgent holidays and romantic escapes for one or two couples seeking tranquility and relaxation. The main entrance wooden door opens into a beautiful courtyard with built-in sofas and a heated outdoor covered plunge pool, which gives an introduction to the subtle sense of luxury that characterises Villa Orpheus. In the main house, the traditional floor treatment, tasteful colours and carefully chosen furniture create a unique atmosphere that skilfully blends the past with contemporary comfort and luxury.

Megalochori is a quiet, traditional Santorini village located 5.8 km south of the busy capital of Fira. It features a charming town square surrounded by historic churches, museums, pottery shops, great family-owned tavernas, as well as the Gavala Winery and Venetsanos Winery. While the village centre is within walking distance of the famous Santorini Caldera, you might prefer to rent a car for easy access to Santorini’s towns, beaches, and attractions. For those interested in traditional Greek culture, the highly acclaimed Symposion Cultural Centre in the adjoining street is a haven for Ancient Greek Music, Art and Mythology on the island. Megalochori Location: Just south of Fira and the ferry port, adjacent to the Caldera. Parking: There are four free public car parks within walking distance of the village centre. Two are off the main Fira-Perissa road; one by The Family Bakery, and the other by Earth and Water Pottery Studio. The other two are off the local road that leads from the main road down to the village square. Coming from Fira, turn left just before the bakery. Coming from Perissa, turn right just after the pottery studio.
