We spend most of our free time in Viganj throughout the year, painting, fishing, working on our orange and olive gardens. In the Summer we move to our Surf-hut by the sea, and enjoy the unique wind conditions of Viganj--the daily Maestral, which brings thousands of kiters, windsurfers, foilers to this small Village each year. This is the time when we leave our hillside house to friends and family, and also for a couple of weeks we rent it out to a select few. We also like to explore to nearby uninhabited small islands with our fishing boat, collecting driftwood and looking for treasure. Peljesac casts a magic spell on many visitors. There is time for calm and slow water t activities in the morning and in the evening, while in the afternoon the wind picks up and many of us are on the water, Of course, there are plenty of other activities to do besides wind sports, but there is no shame to catch from us ''Fjaka', the sublime state in which a Dalmatian aspires for nothing- it is considered a gift of God. Don't be afraid if you hear us or others exclaim: Ajme, Judi, ufatila me fjaka! Alas, my friends, fjaka has caught me!”

Long fascinated by the paintings of Ljubo Babic, depicting the old Dalmatian countryside, I accidentally found myself on he 'Path', depicted on one of his most famous paintings. The path led , to an abandoned stone cottage, with the most beautiful view of the Sea and Korcula. Love at first sight- I had to have it. The cottage is hillside, 300 year old, now renovated, 3 bedroom , 3 bathroom, 2 kitchen , 150 sqm stone cottage comrprised of two buildings. . In front of the buildings, there is a unique timeless pool made of green Guatemaia Verde marble. The property has magnificent elevated views of the sea below , mountains and the Island of Korcula, only a short boat ride away. In addtion to the Path, there is a long driveway from the road to the loading/ parking area, only 30m away, Additional parking a available 150m away, from where the Path leads to the house. At this peaceful Hillside Location , our closest neighbour is the Maskin Konoba restaurant 50 m away, please check their great reviews online. This historic property is suited to those seeking inspiration, and want to experience the beauty of true, traditional Dalmatia.

Neighbourhood information

The property ideal for nature loving guests, the busy seaside is just 5 minute walk away. Viganj is one of the few places in the Adriatic tho have regular afternoon winds, and thousands of guests return every year to enjoy water-sports. The place is extremely safe both on shore and off shore, , most people here are returning regulars, knowing and looking after each other. There is no other place in Croatia that can offer this combination of regular wind and beautiful scenery. It is an ideal place to get introduced to wind sports, but the calmer morning hours are also great for snorkeling, kayaking and swimming, It is a very safe on the Sea all year around. Peljesac casts a magic spell on many visitors. There is time for calm and slow water t activities in the morning and in the evening, while in the afternoon the wind picks up and many of us are on the water. Safe storage for sport equipment and private car parking is available for our guests on the Main Windsport Spot at Ponta Beach.
