We're a mix couple from Indonesia (Venny) and the Netherlands (Jacq). We live and stay in our villa since April 2018 and we directly fell in love with Karimunjawa the first time we came here and decided to move to the island and build our property.
Our vision, as mentioned, is to provide a place where people of all ages can come for an Astronomy holiday, to enjoy the exceptionally dark skies and learn a little more about what they’re seeing. We aim to make your stay as great as possible and hope that you enjoy the dark Karimunjawa skies and everything our paradise offers, as much as we do. We sure look forward to seeing you soon.
Property information
Our accommodation consists of three wooden old-style villas and two observatories where you can watch the deep skies of Indonesia. Sit down with a good book, do some work by using our WiFi, get the guests together for a board game in the restaurant, the observing terrace or wherever you want to sit on our 1.600 square meter park. Enjoy free coffee, tea or cold water or order one of the many drinks, snacks or meals from our kitchen.
During the twelve-hour day, it can get pretty sunny. However, the fresh sea breeze in the early evening blowing through our accommodation is very pleasant and makes it the perfect place to sit down together. And of course! The Karimunjawa sky will call you every single evening, after sunset (around 17:45) until sunrise (around 5:30).
All our (unique) villas are modern and fully furnished in a practical and comfortable way. Lay down on your comfortable king-size bed after a day exploring the island and its (deep) sky. Take a good rest in the quiet surrounding of Karimunjawa, far away from the sounds of the mosque and village. Neighbourhood information
Deepsky villa is located at a quiet part of the Karimunjawa main island, we're five km from the city Karimunjawa. Two minutes east by motorbike, from our villa, you will find Sunset Beach. The most famous beach in Karimunjawa, surrounded by green hills. Also, twenty minutes to the north, you will find the airport Dewandaru.
Lastly, we have four telescopes to show you around our solar system, milky way and beyond: the ''deep sky''. We're the only place in Karimunjawa, where you can enjoy the dark sky of Indonesia through a telescope.
