Upon arrival, guests at Abhainn Ri Cottages will be greeted with a home baked treat and welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Featuring a country cottage style, each house offers a traditional hand painted oak kitchen with fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen includes washer / dryer, dishwasher, microwave, ceramic hob with an oven and a grill, fridge with freezer box, along with a large selection of kitchenware. With a large garden, the houses have a spacious living and dining area with a log-burning stove and a 45-inch Smart TV connected to WiFi. The house has three en-suite bedrooms and the master double bedroom is on the ground floor. Two bedrooms have showers, and one bedroom upstairs has a bathtub. Guests staying at Abhainn Ri Cottages can take the farm trails through 100 acres of land and visit the farm animals along the way to the lake shore. We have friendly donkeys, horses, goats, cattle and some hens. The gates through the fields are open, where guests can walk to mowed pathways. Breakfast can be booked in the Farmhouse B&B the day before required - full menu/information in the cottage. Baking classes or Afternoon Tea are also available to book in advance and take place in the Farmhouse. The area surrounding Abhainn Ri Cottages is home to beaches, historic houses, and gardens. Guests can take the Grand Tour of Wicklow and Kildare by car or visit Russborough House, just 5 minutes’ drive away.

Abhainn Ri is owned and run by Joe & Niamh Byrne. We love guests coming to stay in this very special place with stunning views of the farmland, river, lake and Wicklow mountains. We welcome our guests to enjoy a home baked treat on arrival to our cosy cottages. We both love cooking at Abhainn Ri and our guests can enjoy our home baked cake on arrival. Niamh also gives baking classes and afternoon tea for family groups. Joe loves cooking, gardening and taking care of our farm animals. We both love to cook together and enjoy everything about nature and relaxation.

Abhainn Rí is located on farmland overlooking the stunning sweeping landscape of the kings river valley as it flows into Blessington Lakes. The Byrne family have created a wonderful, welcoming space where visitors can reconnect with nature and experience country living and freedom away from the stresses of everyday life. Wander freely through the fields and follow the Mindfulness Trail dotted with notes of inspiration while enjoying a little banter with the friendly farm animals along the way. We have a folder in each cottage giving advice on lots of places to visit. Lots of places to eat out like the Hollywood Inn and Ballmore Inn. The Hollywood Cafe serve lunches and pizza on Friday & Saturday nights. Information in each cottage for guests.
