Located on the beautiful Donegal coastline, Áras Ghleann Cholm Cille is just a 10-minute drive from the highest sea cliffs in Europe. It offers free Wi-Fi, a free 24-hour shuttle to the bus station, and 2 self-catering kitchens. Guests can relax in each room with a TV and free tea and coffee. Bathrooms are either en suite or shared. The local Gaelic-speaking area and its pubs are rich in traditional Irish culture and music. Free parking is available, for Guests traveling by bus, we have free bicycles for your use. To get here, please take the Bus 293 from Donegal Town to Glencolumbkille and get off at the last stop called "Malin More - Old Glen Bay Hotel". You will see the sigh to Aras at the back of the stop. Its only 150m. Slieve League cliffs are 15 km away, and there are numerous scenic hill walks in the surrounding area.

Your hosts are Leon and Gillian who, with their sons Christopher and Nicholas, will provide you with great hospitality. Leon will give you great advice on the local area, helping you to make the most of your time with us. Gillian is the chattiest one; she will often be seen entertaining guests in the large open kitchen space, or serving a hearty fried breakfast in the mornings.

Aras, located in West Donegal, Ireland provides both self catering accommodation as well as an optional Breakfast ( not included in the price ). Our guests describe Aras as a ‘home away from home’. A short 5 minute drive takes you to the quaint little town of Glencolumbkille (Glencolmcille), and a 15 minute drive gets you to the world famous Slieve League Sea Cliffs, offering spectacular views or breath taking hiking. We offer great value accommodation to suit your needs, whether that’s a family room for a week long break, a single room for a night, or a large group of up to 50 guests. Pick from 20 rooms, cozy up in our large kitchen area with its own rustic fireplace, and kick your feet up in our large lounging area. We do everything we can to ensure you get the most that Donegal has to offer; just ask us for one of our area and activity guides. We look forward to your visit. Pets are allowed by pre-arrangement and a fee will apply. ( no more than 2 dogs per room please )

We are located in the heart of the Donegal Gealtacht on the Slieve League peninsula. Áras Ghleann Cholm Cille can be found at Rossan Point – the most westerly point in the parish of Glencolmcille, the county of Donegal and indeed the entire province of Ulster!! West Donegal is unspoilt nature at its best. Aras is situated near the coast with unspoilt mountain and sea views. The view over Rathlin O'Byrne island with its ( still operating ) lighthouse is postcard perfect. Slieve League, amongst the highest sea cliffs in Europe, is only 15 minutes away. The area surrounding Slieve League is completely unspoiled and provides a wealth of spectacular rocky coastline, magnificent inlets, pristine beaches and crystal-clear ocean waters. We have 8 brochures describing Slieve League, Mukross Head and the Coastal Road, Maghera beach and Assaranca Waterfall and the 2 surrounding mountain passes, An Port an abandoned Famine Village and all the activities surrounding Aras.
