My house is situated just outside the lovely historic village of Cong. Ideal for guests going to weddings in Ashford or the Lodge as I will drive them to the venue and they can leave their cars at my house. My guests are guaranteed a great nights sleep in very peaceful surroundings. It's also ideal for walkers, fishermen or shooters. We're just at the start of Connemara, so ideal for touring and sightseeing. We create a very easygoing and relaxed atmosphere for everyone to enjoy their stay. All our rooms are very spacious and all our en-suites have under floor heating.
Hi I'm a mom of five, all grown up now and with homes of their own. I've eleven grandchildren, so I'm busy loving them all. I'm at my happiest when I'm busy, so that's why I'm really enjoying this experience of creating a home away from home for my guests.
Cong is full of historic monuments. The Quiet Man film was made here in 1951 starring John Wayne and Maureen O Hara. I actually had the privilege of cooking for Maureen and her family in 2011. She was a fabulous person. There was an aura about her. Our neighbourhood is famous for its fishing, shooting and walks. We're surrounded by fabulous woods with all walking trails through them. We have some fabulous restaurants and cafes in the village itself. We have the world famous Ashford Castle in Cong where there's always famous people staying.
