Pierside Apartment is set in Cleggan, a small idyllic fishing village nestling in Cleggan Bay on Connemara's Atlantic Coast. Cleggan Is well served by public transport with bus connections directly to Galway and Dublin Airport. It has four bars, one grocer and a sit-down restaurant, as well as a take-out. There is traditional music regularly in the summer, and an excellent restaurant in Oliver’s Bar. There is also a children’s playground next to the community centre. Go horse trekking with the Cleggan Horse Riding Centre (Just outside Cleggan village) There is an annual Festival of the Sea, which takes place at the end of July/Early August every year. Omey Island is a short drive from Cleggan, this island can be reached on foot at low tide. There are fine strands and pony races take place in August. There are the ruins of Teampall Féichin (Temple Feichin) a small medieval church. The capital of Connemara, Clifden, is approximately a 10 minute car drive from Cleggan. A colourful town with its top-quality, award winning, restaurants, cafes and traditional bars. Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park is well worth a visit along with a round of golf at the Connemara Links Club.
