Welcome to Drop Anchor House, a peaceful oasis of calm offering luxury accommodation and panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean and islands on the Wild Atlantic Way. Surrounded by beaches and the 12 Bens, this apartment is within close walking distance of many beaches on the Aughrus Peninsula, including Omey Island. It is a 20 minute drive from Clifden. This contemporary house has all the comforts of home, yet is totally removed from everyday living with amazing views of Inis boffin. Ferry to Inis Boffin departs from Cleggan, 3 miles from the property. Local restaurants/bars are within 2-3 miles. Connemara National Park is 20 minutes drive away. Children are very welcome.
Apartment is located above host's house, accessed through its own private entrance. Free Parking available. Hosts are available 24/7 for customer support.

I’m originally from Wexford and after living in London for a number of years I returned to Connemara with my husband Maurice, who is originally from here, to raise our family.
As well as making working currachs for local fishermen, my husband and local man himself Maurice Gordon, crafts the most exquisite model size currachs in his workshop behind the house. “Its impossible to describe in words the attention to detail in these wonderful scale models of the traditional small fishing vessel that is emblematic of the Connemara coastline; you have to see it to believe it. There are even tiny crabs in the pots, for goodness sake! And a hand-painted cross in the bow, for protection at sea!”, said Heather Greer, publisher of the Aughrus Peninsula website.

Aughrus Peninsula is a beautiful, rugged region in NW Connemara, on the Wild Atlantic Way, 10 miles north west of Clifden, the capital of Connemara.
Home to a magnificent coastline, multiple beautiful white sandy beaches for wild swimming all year round, walks, mountains, lakes and rivers, sea angling, pony riding, tours to make out to offshore islands including beautiful Inishbofin; fill the days with wherever the mood takes you.
