Ideal location for travling to or from Dublin, visiting Kilkenny City and Castle and Smithwicks Brewery Tour or travling to Glendalough Carey’s Pub established in 1542 is an authentic Irish bar, having been nurtured for generations by the Carey family it looks and feels as it did hundreds of years ago. Its Irelands oldest family run Pub. Carey’s traditional farm is a modest rural destination where you’ll experience the “real Ireland” Our apartment is looking onto our farmyard which will give you a real country living experience and depending on the time of year is home to cows with new born calves, sheep and lambs. A self catering wheel chair accessible apartment, kitchen, large bedroom and ensuite walk in shower room. St Lazerian’s Cathedral a 13 century gem nestles in the village is just outside.
We hope to make your stay as enjoyable as possible we will be around if you need us, but we will give you your space, or you can have a drink in our traditional Irish Pub open 3 nights Mon Wed Sat 8.30 pm.
This quiet village is home to St. Lazerians Cathedral a 13 century gem just outside our door, and St Lazerians holy well. Only 25 minutes (28 km) from the Medieval City of Kilkenny, The history of Kilkenny began with an early sixth-century ecclesiastical foundation, this relates to a church built in honour of St. Canice, now St. Canice's Cathedral and was a major monastic centre from at least the eighth century. Walshes Irish Whiskey Distillary is a 7 minutes The picturesque village of Leighlinbridge is 5 minutes (5 km), and its home to The Arboretum Garden Centre, The Lord Bagenal an award winning restaurant. Walks along the Barrow Track a secnic inland waterway with victorian locks. Walking visitors wishing to walk the barrow track can relax here we will arrange to pick you up after a days walking if at all possible please check with host. Gowran Park Racecorse 16 minutes (18 km) and Goresbridge Sales Complex is 16 minutes (18km) Just 15 minutes drive to Carlow town where you can visit the Brownshill Dolmen, Duckets Grove. Waterford City is 55 minutes (72 km) it’s Ireland’s oldest city founded in 914 A.D. and home to Waterford Crystal.
