Tucked away on a quiet country land, just outside Clifden, Fernwood is a peaceful eco retreat set within native woodland, wildflower meadows and restored bogland. Our uniquely designed forest hideaways offer guests a chance to slow down and reconnect with nature. Wander through wooded trails, visit our small farm with Dexter cattle and hens, or simply enjoy the stillness and views across the surrounding Connemara landscape. Whether you're here to explore or unwind, Fernwood offers a unique and thoughtful escape rooted in sustainability and local character.

At end of a country road and at the beginning of the Connemara Greenway, Fernwood is a true oasis with the benefit of being 2 minutes from Clifden town. Our organic farm is on a 140 acre private estate comprising of native woodland and bog, on the shores of the Salt Lake. Walk out your front door to explore, in complete solitude, our 2km of woodland paths, the wonders of the Connemara bogland or relax in our newly constructed lakeside sauna house with plunge pool. You can chose to stay in our new refurbished Bothy conversion which is finished to the highest spec with underfloor heating, wood burning stove, sheepskin rugs and feather down duvets For the ultimate experience chose our luxury treehouse dome/tent or better again a Stilt House Suite with private wood-fired Swedish Hot Tub.
