Hallo! My name is Ros, I'm a musician and art lover. We are a family of travellers who, after over 20 years of living in the most beautiful capitals of Europe (London, Bruxelles), in order to give continuity to our feeling of being 'world citizens', returned back to Ballarò, the most famous and cosmopolitan market town in the heart of the city of Palermo. We speak English, French, Arab and – of course- Sicilian.

Property information

The structure is located in the beating heart of the city, Ballarò, in the multicultural district of Albergheria. Recently structured, Ballarattik is characterised by a terrace on the sixth floor, which directly overlooks the dome of the Carmine church from the late 1600s, supported by four squat and muscular figures, and covered with glazed majolica with colours that recall the Arab style. Rich and unique, the dome is unique in its kind, not only in Palermo but throughout Sicily. From the terrace, I am sure you will enjoy a breathtaking and unforgettable view of the city!!

Neighbourhood information

One of the five Norman quarters, the so-named Albergheria district housed the the rebel inhabitants of Centorbe and Capizzi, transferred by Frederick II of Swabia. According to other sources, it could instead mean "land at noon", from "Albahar" or "Albergaira". In the central part of the district, there is the market of Ballarò, whose name is of uncertain origin, probably deriving from the name of an Arab village near Palermo, from which came valuable goods and spices. The Ballaro market is historically the multicultural reality of Palermo, and recently it has become one of the major pole of attractions for its cultural life and the gastronomic delicacies, while preserving at the same time its most authentic character. It is located in the heart of the UNESCO path. The central Station is 7 mins walk (500 meters) The Cathedral is 9 mins walk (700 meters) The Quattro Canti Square is 9 mins walk (700 meters) The Casa Professa Church is 5 mins walk (400 meters) The Palace of the Normans (Royal Palace of Palermo) is 15 mins walk (1 km) Teatro Massimo (Theater) is 17 mins walk (1.3 km)
