Casa della Scrittrice is nestled in its own olive grove away from the noise and bustle of the world, situated a few kilometres from Ostuni. It’s the perfect place to unwind, relax and really try living the ‘Dolce Vita’. David and Francesco moved to Puglia in 2012 to get away from the hustle and bustle of London and start a new chapter in their lives. ​ David has many years of experience in hospitality and retail. Most recently as part owner of the award-winning boutique ‘Black Truffle‘. Francesco has been a stylist, designer and fashion consultant in both London and Rome for many years. When David finally managed to coax Francesco to return to his native Italy, the two brought with them a unique flair for design, which is reflected in the decor at both Casa and Trullo della Scrittrice beautifully complimenting their existing charm. ​ Having worked with people from all over the world you can definitely be assured of a warm welcome from them and their very friendly dogs and cats.

At Casa della Scrittrice you are perfectly situated to visit beautiful hilltop villages, baroque towns and of course La Citta Bianca, Ostuni. You can also explore further afield too, the baroque town of Lecce and coastal towns of Otranto and Galipolli are perfect for day trip. While Matera, European City of Culture in 2019, in Basilicata, is only a two hour drive away. Puglia produces over 40% of Italy's olive oil and some of its most delicious wines too, from seasonal fruit and vegetables to freshly caught seafood and local organic meats and delicious cheeses. Puglia really is a foodies heaven. Every day you will find a local market in one the many beautiful towns around us, where you can buy some amazing local produce. If you love Antiques you will also find a Sunday Market every weekend too. Puglia has one of Italy's longest coastlines in Italy and is home to some of its most beautiful beaches. From rocky coves to long sandy bays, beautiful coastal dunes and WWF reserves. There really is something for everyone to choose from.
