Strategic point, 2,00 Km (1,25 m) from Colosseum and Termini Station. Sapienza University it is no far. Subway, tram and bus stops are located doorstep and takes you anywhere in the city. Bright during the day. Charming by night.
From the last review about me: "As for Andrea’s hospitality, well, he’s a Superhost for a reason. The hospitality was unmatched in my experience. He’s knowledgeable about Italy, Rome, Pigneto, cuisine, and local advice. He ran a hotel in the center of Rome and knows the game inside and out. He went above ad beyond figuring out my transportation to the airport due to my silly booking of an extra early flight and I was able to make all my connections on time. He’s always available through his phone and will truthfully do everything possible to him to help out you’re stay in Rome".
Extravagant neighborhood, full of all kinds of restaurants, firewood pizza and much more. Pigneto has been since its founding, a borough. A borough it is a typical reality of Rome, where lived, in makeshift housing, thousands of people who immigrated to Rome from the South and the Center of the peninsula. Immigration caused by the great demand for masons for the construction of the monument to the Unknown Soldier (aka “the wedding cake” or “the tpewriter”) and the great earthworks that Fascism wanted to create Via dell'Impero and Via della Conciliazione (to celebrate the Lateran Pacts signed with Pope PIO XI ). Those among them who were veterans of World War I were given a handkerchief of land. Others were given nothing. So they built their hovels using bricks taken from the monument factory. To save time and money, they used the pillars of the aqueducts of Ancient Rome as the fourth wall. After World War II they were joined by workers who came from small towns in the vicinity of Rome and from the Agro Romano. From this mixture the Roman concept of townships was born and developed. Today Il Pigneto retains only a distant memory of its origins, just as it retains only two pine trees, which in the 1800s covered the entire area and gave the neighborhood its name. Today Pigneto is a half working-class neighborhood and half cultural district. Many people from the film industry, musicians, painters and graphic artists live there. In the evening it is enlivened by a chaotic but seductive movida. For those visiting Rome for the third or fourth time, I suggest not to underestimate the area's archaeological offerings: The Catacombs of Saints Marcellinus and Peter “ad duas lauros,” the mausoleum of St. Helena (the TORPIGNATTARA) and the underground Neoplatonic Basilca at Porta Maggiore.
