The best thing about the hotel is the view inside the room, the space is roomy and comfy. Besides, the historic building was attractive. As a traveller who drove to there, the place is easy to find and enough space for parking.

Property information

Established at the end of the Edo period, this is the oldest inn in Kurokawa Onsen, with a history as an official inn of the Higo Hosokawa clan. It is the only inn in the region that still uses the name "Okyakuya" as it was at that time. Since its establishment, the inn has been a "half farmer, half inn," running a hot spring resort while tilling the fields and tending the mountains, the kaiseki cuisine, which uses rice, vegetables, wild plants, and hand-prepared additive-free seasonings from the inn's own farm, is not fancy, but it is a healthy cuisine that makes the most of the flavors of the ingredients.
