<The Property> Perfect hideaway to relax & explore!! Nestled in a supreme location between the limpid "Shimanto River" and deep green forests, you will find Shimanto Riverside Hideaway which is a secluded classic Japanese house accommodation with a tranquil garden. A short walk to "Takase Chinkabashi" : an atmospheric landmark bridge in Shimanto where nostalgia meets new memories. Enjoy a wide variety of natural attractions and outdoor activities in the untouched rural Japan. Peace, tranquility, and serenity are just a few of the elements you will experience in the rustic small hotel. The small hotel limits the number of overnight groups to a maximum of two. You can choose your room from three bedrooms in the picturesque accommodation ; "Tatami Room" (27㎡) is a very Japanese-style room with Futons which are mattresses and duvets used for sleeping on Tatami mats, "Cosy Room" (13㎡) is a twin-room with two comfortable beds on Tatami mats, "Cabin Room" (46㎡) is also twin-room set up two comfy beds in a designed cabin a few steps away from the main house. The kitchen in the accommodation contains a sink, gas stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, rice cooker, cooking tools, cutlery, and crockery. Seasonings, tea, and coffee are provided. #------ Not allowed to cook oily food. ##------ Notice: The kitchen and the bathroom are shared with other guests. Quality mountainbikes are available for guests to use.

<The Host> Hi, my name is Kenji, the owner of the hideaway that marks more than 6 years of a wonderful hosting journey. I am originally from Shikoku and enjoy not only a rural lifestyle with easy access to untouched beautiful nature, but also the laidback life surrounded by amazingly friendly locals in Shimanto. The small hotel accommodation is open to guests from all over the world and set up to make their stay comfortable and memorable. <The Neighbourhood> Surrounded by mountains and close to lovely beaches and the ocean, Shimanto, with its clear rivers, is a microcosm of Japan's natural beauty. Casual spirit community with numerous delicacies and local sake. Whether you're visiting the small region for relaxation or action and adventure, you will be impressed by the cultural landscape : harmony in relationship between the nature and local residents. For travel deeper, it is advisable to stop off at Kochi's southernmost cape and discover the Ashizuri area. We offer guided tours for those wishing to visit some spectacular lesser known gems in the most rural - but also the most beautiful Japan. ###------ Please note that we don’t have any dinner places nearby. We would be happy to recommend some amazing local restaurants in the centre of Shimanto ; 20 mins drive distance. Also, highly recommend trying a catering service which you can enjoy the local bounty of nature including fresh sashimi and tasty bonito. A reservation by one day before is necessary.
