The Cliff House enjoys a spectacular location overlooking the Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary and adjoining the Shimba Hills National Park. Its close proximity to Diani Beach means that the Cliff House is an ideal retreat for those who wish to enjoy and experience nature at its best within easy reach of the beach. Come for a couple of days to relax before or after your beach holiday. The quiet ambiance, the beautiful sunsets and moonrises together with the expansive views will not disappoint. The Cliff House is the perfect place to relax before you fly home, for a romantic weekend away, a yoga retreat or for your executive team to have an off site retreat within easy reach of Mombasa or Diani. From the huge balcony of the Cliff House you can watch elephants in the river valley below, be enthralled by the antics of dozens of bird species or just enjoy being surrounded by nature. ​ The Cliff House itself nestles into the cliff face, with the rock integrated into the house. Originally from Holland, Marie has lived in Kwale, Kenya since 2007 and knows the area very well. Marie manages an educational health project in Kwale which hosts many international visitors. Marie decided to create a beautiful clifftop villa for others to experience this area. Marie has two daughters, and continues to travel widely herself, to Europe and other parts of Africa.
The Cliff House is in the area known as the Shimba Hills, a 400 metre high range of hills set just 25kms inland from Diani Beach (many times voted "best beach in Africa"). In the Shimba Hills there are two National Parks (Game parks) - Shimba Hills National Park and Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary. It is a forested area which on one side overlooks the coast beaches and on the other overlooks the game parks.
