Ardeen Villa, 350 sqm in size located in Ranna, Tangalle has direct access to the Kahandamodara beach. Built on an acre of beachfront land it has two large 42 sqm bedrooms with sea view and a family suite of 45 sqm. All the rooms have ensuites including a bidet and separate shower cubicle fans, AC and WIFI. The 2 sea view rooms also have an outdoor shower attached. The family suite has a separate shower and bath tub and twin wash basins. The open indoor courtyard with a beautiful frangipani tree adds a touch of class to the indoor setting. A separate play room for the kids and the large dining and lounge area provides privacy as well as togetherness making the villa unique. During the day peacocks and wild fowl nest in the gardens. On a full moon night turtles may be seen swimming ashore to lay their eggs outside the villa. The comforting breeze of the sea accompanied with the sound of the crashing waves uplift the soul, energising the body and wiping away the cares of the world. Guests carry back fond memories of this paradise with joy and bliss never experienced before. The villa has a large pool and the gardens are beautifully landscaped with exotic tropical plants and trees. Coconut palms, frangipani, water lilies, mango trees and the natural fauna and vegetation make it a hidden gem ensconced midst the serenity of nature. The lounge area provides a magnificent view of the ocean and pool. Meals can be taken indoors or outside in the cabana right on the beach or in the cabana near the BBQ. The entrance to the villa via a private driveway leads to a fish pond with water lilies which makes it a favourite nesting place for finches and king fishers. The furniture is traditional comfortable Sri Lankan lounges with the walls adorned with original paintings of budding local artists. The staff quarters is 50 metres away from the villa for the resident staff. A 30 kva auto switchover generator is installed for power back up.
We care for our guests. As strangers to a new country we see the importance of making our guests feel safe, comfortable, catering to their needs and assisting them in ensuring that they are getting value for money and assured of an enjoyable stay. Cleanliness and comfort is our top most priority and our staff are committed to providing our guests with an excellent service beyond their expectations. We want you to enjoy your holiday and carry back fond memories of the villa and Sri Lanka. We offer tasty dishes to suit the palates of adults and kids at reasonable prices. Both local and western cuisine is available. Lunch and dinner is priced from USD 8-14 per person per meal with light lunch and snacks around USD 4-7 per plate. Breakfast is included in the room rates. The villa is ideal for one or two families or groups not exceeding 8 persons. The entire villa needs to be booked. Guests can buy their own groceries and condiments and request the chef to cook their meals. A charge of USD 20 per day applies each time this facility is used. The villa is for the sole use of the resident guests. Outsiders are not permitted to enter the villa premises when guests are resident. We do not sell liquor but guests can bring their own supplies for consumption. We recommend you bring your own favourite spirits and wines as they might not be available as well as they could be more expensive. Local beer is of good quality and relatively cheap and very popular. Our staff are friendly but always respect your privacy. We have a resident manager on site who is available to assist you with your needs 24 hours a day. For those who want to be active we offer volleyball, beachball, badminton, angling, kite flying, walking tours, cycling, boat rides, fishing trips, canoeing, swimming, chess, card games, darts and other games for kids.
For nature lovers there are many interesting sites and places to visit. The Kalametiya bird sanctuary is a 10 minutes drive and boasts one of the best bird sanctuaries in Sri Lanka. Boat rides can be arranged and the lagoon boasts of more than 60 species of bird life. The Kahandamodara lagoon is 400 metres away and is the habitat of a variety of waetr birds that nest in the surrounding marshes and mangroves. Boat rides in the Kalametiya and Kahandamodara lagoons are arranged. Day trips to two of the largest and most famous game reserves, Yala and Uda Walawe can be undertaken from the villa. A drive to Yala takes 2.5 hours and Udawalawe is less than an hour where elephant, leopard bear and other mammals and bird life can be sighted. The famous Bundala bird sanctuary is a 60 minute drive. Dolphin and whale watching is popular during the season in Mirissa and Dickwella and transport can be arranged for a day trip to these locations and the Heritage City of Galle can be reached within an hour. There are a number of surf and bathing beaches nearby. Boat rides and fishing trips of interest to anglers are arranged. The eighteen hole International Shangri la Golf Resort is a 20 minute drive. Turtle beach is a 15 minute drive where many turtles are seen laying their eggs on the beach. The staff can arrange transportation for half day or day trips to these places with a picnic lunch provided. A visit to the local fresh produce and fruit markets is an interesting experience. A day trip ( 2.5 hours) to the hill town of Ella famous for its waterfalls, tea plantations, nine arch railway bridge and mountains and valleys is worthwhile. We recommend that guests book for a week or more to discover the several attractions that abound in the Southern coastline. We provide free pick up from the airport for stays over 7 days for groups travelling together. For stays of over 14 days we provide free pick up and drop off to the airport.
