The Manor 1926 - Formally diplomatic residence dating back to 1926 and located in the heart of Colombo is rich with many period features such as 26 inch thick brick walls, detailed Burma Teak doors and windows,elaborated copper bars for windows and exceptionally high ceilings.This wonderful property offers a mix of colonial charm,clever restoration and all the modern comforts of a luxury family home….. This one of a kind colonial suite consists of a spacious Bedroom with a king size bed and en suite bathroom can be comfortably accommodate two adults.The cozy living space is fully furnished with a large sofa,coffee table,dining table with 04 chairs ,spacious office table with a chair,50 Inch Smart TV and a modern kitchenette(Ideal for your morning tea/coffee , just to pre heat your ready to eat food items etc…and we don’t encourage our guests for heavy cooking) with a microwave,electric kettle,sandwich toaster and a large Fridge. As a reputed accommodation establishment we always concern about our Guests safety and Guests are not allowed to accommodate & entertain any outsiders ,relatives and friends in to the Property at all times.Smoking is allowed only in the Garden & Open areas. Also we prefer our Guests to pay total reservation fee in advance ( only in USD or EUROS when they check in to the Property!
The Manor 1926 is managed by an experienced Host and His Team, who are living one block away from your accommodation, on site every day! Our Guests can order authentic Sri Lankan homemade meals,sandwiches, tropical fruit juices and tea/ coffee on special rates.Our Guests can just pop in to our section (we live next door) and order their meals! We need at-least 3 hour preparation time for a main meal & 1 hour preparation time for sandwiches and tropical fruit juices subject to availability. Guests can discuss about meal prices & how they want their meals to be prepared in terms of less spicy, medium spicy or Extra Hot Spicy. Because Authentic Sri Lankan Cuisine we use lot of tropical herbs & spices including Garlic,Ginger,Green Chillies, cardamom, white pepper, cloves, cinnamon , fenugreek, coriander, cumin, turmeric, fennel, tamarind, nutmeg,mace ,lemongrass ,panden leaves & curry leaves.
Very conveniently located within the city center. Colombo International AirPort is only 26 km’s from the property via Baseline Highway.(30 minutes drive).Very close to Colombo’s best Restaurants,Cafes,Shopping Malls,Museums,Art Galleries , Buddhist Temples, Hindu Temples , Local Markets, Casinos ,Parks,Nightclubs,Hotels ,Diplomatic Missions, Hospitals etc…Odel Alexandra Place and Asiri Central Hospital is only five minutes walk! All Saints’ Church is only few blocks away from the Property.Spa Ceylon (Ayurvedic Spa)Ward Place is only 5 minutes walk. Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple, Viharamahadevi Park, Galle Face Green ,Independence Square,Colombo Town Hall are within 10 minutes walk.Five minutes to Bally’s Casino. (Country’s Largest Casino). Fort Main Railway station & Fort Main Bus Stand is only 10 minutes minutes. Maradana Railway Station is 5 minutes walk from the Property.
