While Abderrahim's riad provides a peaceful oasis from the bustle of the Medina, the neighbours provide a sense of localcommunity. In the early morning, the calls to prayer emanate from the nearby mosques, joined by the chatter of women in neighbouring riads as they begin their day. Artisans work in shops that line the small alley, crafting leather goods, spices and lanterns that fill the air with their scents.
