Breathtaking views over the turquoise blue of the Indian Ocean, Villa Palmistes is utopia for anyone looking for a place to chill out. You will have the most incredible stay. This three-storey villa takes comfort to another level. The three floors are exact replica, with a large traditional communal lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and one bathroom. Both bedrooms are double; one of which is furnished with a cradle. The two upper floors give way to an open terrace enabling early risers to admire sunrise, while those preferring to stay in the ground floor gets to breathe in early morning dew across the front lawn. Needless to say the sunsets are amazing. The rooftop terrace of Villa Palmistes offers you the perfect angle for stargazing. The property is huge. Approximately 3000 square feet, there is plenty of space for a large garden party. Over and above these, the villa amenities include free housekeeping, free Wi-Fi, and provision of barbecue grill.
I am officially a town resident but I try to relish maximum of my time with my family and friends in the peaceful village of La Gaulette. One of my favorite hobbies is to swim with the dolphins in the wild. Almost every morning a group of dolphins swim near Tamarin, a village close to La Gaulette. Some moments they swim near the surface. From my experiences I can say, if you get in the water at the right time you will be able to swim with them in the wild. They are very fast so I make sure to enjoy every special second I swim with them. Ile aux Benitiers is yet another favorite chilling spot of mine… Ile aux Benitiers constantly amazes me with a sight I never forget; walking through turquoise water 300 meters away from shore, looking over Mauritius is an experience that words are just not enough to describe. It is also one of the best places to snorkel.
La Gaulette itself is great, a fairly quiet village with a growing selection of restaurants and a large supermarket within 10 – 15 minutes walking distance from Villa Palmistes. The area around the Villa is beautiful with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The blue lagoon and the green landscape that stretch in front of the villa, combined with the tranquility of the area, form a relaxing environment.
