Since 2001 La Posada en el Potrero Chico has received climbers from all around the globe. Our location give us the privilege to be near to a unique geological formation of limestone cliffs, some 2000 ft hight, the magnificent El Potrero Chico. Our space is cleverly designed for you to enjoy this paradise of rock climbing.

El Potrero Chico is located in Hidalgo, in the state of Nuevo León, México. In this Town you can perceive eternal calm, totally different from the city style. Experience Northern Mexican culture and our ideal, year-round climate.

Neighbourhood information

El Potrero is: A unique geological formation of limestone cliffs, some 2000 ft hight. Part of the Sierra Madre Oriental. An area that was once under a sea, and if you take time to notice you can find fossils in the rock. A park that is located 3 km to the west of Hidalgo. The climbing area is mostly located at the entrance to the park, the limestone cliffs form the outer perimeter, and the interior is an undeveloped mountainous wildlife area. One of the top 10 mountains to sport-climb in the world.
