Anka and Melis de Vries have been the proud owners of Terschelling Appartementenhotel Tjermelân since 2010. Hotel Tjermelân has all the comforts of a hotel, but with the ease and spaciousness of an apartment. All apartments and studios are no-smoking. You will be staying in a fully-furnished apartment or studio, each with its own kitchen, shower or bathroom and optional sauna. You can enjoy the extensive breakfast buffet every day in our restaurant. The hotel offers free WiFi.

We're real nature lovers. Any time we can take a break from our busy work activities, you'll find us in the woods, the dunes or on the beach, thoroughly enjoying nature and any animals we come across on our way. An extension of our love of nature is our love of the night sky. That's why we set up a Dark Sky Park here on the island of Terschelling so you can enjoy stargazing with us.

Appartementenhotel Tjermelân gives you the conviviality and hospitality of eastern Terschelling. The Waddenzee, which is a cultural heritage site, and De Boschplaat nature reserve are close by and well worth a visit. You’ll be able to relax completely, surrounded by such beautiful nature. But there are also plenty of activities. The hotel is situated between the villages of Oosterend and Hoorn. Both have nice little restaurants. And for a great, unforgettable evening out, Hoorn is of course where the singer, Hessel entertains people in his bar almost all year round. Since there is little light pollution on Terschelling, the stars can be seen much more clearly, and you experience nature at night in its purest form. This was the reason for setting up the Dark Sky Park in De Boschplaat. You can choose to make your own way through the dunes, but there are a number of organised star-gazing excursions too.
