A fantastic night under the northern lights? If you're looking for a romantic accommodation in the wild nature, or a cozy wedding night together with your husband/wife, then the Wild Caribou Dome is the perfect place. The dome is located in the wild Arctic nature, with view on the sight "The Original Icon of Wild Caribou". Next to the dome flows the river Brennelva, a great swimming and hiking opportunity. Note that the polar night is from November until February, the best chances to see polar nights are during this time. From May to August we have midnight sun, in this time you will not see northern lights, but an absolutely green nature and much wild life. Inside the dome, we have a cozy sitting space with views of the Arctic forest and the sight. A wood-burning stove ensures that you do not freeze and a big bed with warm winter duvets for a cozy night. You can observe the northern lights and the stars all night through the window in the roof.
We are a family that owns the company Wild Caribou AS. Wild Caribou AS offers accommodation, a landmark area open during the summer months, a silversmithy and a souvenir and gift shop with our silver jewelry and many wonderful gifts and souvenirs, which you will not find other places. Our goal is to give our customers a very special experience and a little insight into Arctic life. We own a sled dog breed, Greenland Dogs, which we engage in privately. Clearly everyone is welcome to greet the dogs and enjoy them. If you want a sledding, we can help.
Close to the Dome, there are lots of things to see. But since we are in Finnmark, it's mostly about nature and being in nature. Around there is a lot of mountain, fjord, river and forest. We have written a book "100 things to see and do in Porsanger" which you will find in the Dome, where you can get a lot of inspiration for wonderful walks, summer and winter, in nature.
