Your hosts, Lisa and Graham Andrews, share with their guests their passion for quality local food and wine, exploring the outdoors and the simple pleasure of sharing good company. Oh, and also the mantra that every day should start with the perfect cup of coffee!
Lisa comes from a multi-cultural back ground which drives her passion for Aotearoa from her Maori background with her Whakapapa (tribe) of Ngapuhi from her mother’s side to her European heritage through her Dutch father. After leaving school Lisa decided to spread her wings and travel overseas where she began her career in Finance spanning both London and New York. After 24 years and a lot of adventures Lisa decided it was time to come home and put down roots.
Graham arrived in New Zealand when he was 12 years old and his family emigrated from the UK. Graham has a back ground in both Architecture and Horticulture with a side line in adrenalin sports such as skiing and bungee jumping. Ask him about the commonwealth games. Graham’s passion for food has led to his desire to create delicious food to share with our guests and is always experimenting in the kitchen.
Lisa and Graham will be growing much of the produce served at the lodge in their pottage gardens in the beautiful grounds of Ahuru House. They have a passion for meeting new people sharing their experiences and hearing about their guests lives. Luxury is high on the list that Lisa and Graham strive to bring their guest but with a relaxed and welcoming vibe.
