Wonderful hosts who were very warm and welcoming. This is a working farmstead and as such visitors should understand that you will be invited to partake in feeding the young animals- for me, this was a joy. We were offered a vast array for...

Rural oasis of calm and tranquility. Lyndal & Steve were great hosts and made us very welcome. Lots of lovely home made treats for breakfast. A real home from home. Even accompanied Steve to evening feeding time for the hens, ducks, hats and sheep.

Fantastic hosts. Friendly, informative, relaxed. We chose to have an evening meal with our hosts. They are great company; serving delicious food straight from their farm.

AislingQuoy is an organically run smallholding in the beautiful rolling downs of North Canterbury, 40 minutes from the airport, on route to Hanmer and Kaikoura. Our aim is self sufficiency while nurturing the environment. We grow our own vegetables, and hand raise friendly animals for eggs, milk and meat. Guests stay in a room in our modern farmhouse with separate bathroom. Relax and unwind on our secluded property with lovely views of the surrounding countryside and out to the Pacific Ocean. Play petanque in the sheltered European style farm courtyard, meditate in our own stone circle, see the goats being milked, collect fresh eggs from the chickens and help hand feed many of the animals. Enjoy gazing at the stars in our very clear night skies Our modern well insulated farmhouse has a passive solar design with solar electricity and hot water and a wood oven for heating, cooking and hot water. Home cooked breakfast is included but there are no tea/coffee or kitchen/cooking facilities for the room. Hand made toiletries are provided as our worm farm waste water system must have organic only inputs. Our friendly animals include milking goats and their delightful and precocious kids, milking sheep, chickens ducks, and an energetic puppy. There are usually lambs to bottle feed from late August until December.
