Enjoy all that Russell has to offer at this peaceful and centrally located unit. We've named our home after the kūkupa or native wood pigeon also known as the kererū.
Situated in the heart of Russell village Kūkupa Cottage is an easy 2 min flat walk to the centre of town and the waterfront.
Our downstairs bedroom suite is called the Garden Room because of its lush sub-tropical surrounds. You may see or hear tūī, weka, or piwakawaka fan-tails as you sit on the private deck.
The bedroom has a king size bed, a smart tv, wifi internet via fibre, and a space to dine should the weather be inclement.
There are breakfast facilities in the room and we provide fruit juice, cereal, toast, tea, and coffee. A private ensuite bathroom is in the room with a bath and shower.
The suite has its own entrance from the front garden. The space consists of a private deck, bedroom, and private ensuite bathroom. Guests also have use of one driveway carpark and there is street parking nearby.
We love welcoming people to Russell and ensuring that they enjoy their stay at the Garden Room. We're always happy to provide advice and information for guests on places to eat and drink, visitor attractions, and local activities in the town.
Kūkupa Cottage is located in central Russell just 200-400 meters from most of the cafes and restaurants of our beautiful village. Around the corner is the historic Christ Church, the oldest church in NZ, the local museum, and Pompallier Mission and Printery.
We're also a short two minute level walk from the wharf with passenger ferry services to Paihia and boat tours.
In addition to the village waterfront, Russell has other beautiful sandy beaches like Long Beach at Oneroa Bay which is just a 1 kilometer walk or drive.
